Selectman William Heitin plans to run for reelection in the spring, he said recently, while noting it’s early to make a final decision. “As of today, I have every intention of running,” he said. “We have a really good board.” Heitin is in his third term and is serving as chairman this year. He said he hopes to remain on the board to see a number of goals accomplished, including breaking ground for the Sharon Commons development; identifying a new public water source for the town, which he said has not opened a new water source since the 1960s; continuing to stabilize the operating budget, including further reduction of debt service; and finding a resolution regarding development in the Rattlesnake Hill area of town, where a proposed senior housing development has stalled.
