Special Town Meeting in February

There will be a Special Town Meeting on Feb.11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Avon Middle High School. The main two items on the warrant are requests for money associated with the Water Department and a proposal to improve the parking lot at the Butler Elementary School, according to Town Administrator Michael McCue. A Special Town Meeting in November — called to approve $291,000 in state-imposed fines and improvements to the municipal water system — failed to get a quorum. The school project calls for about $1.6 million to renovate and add parking and another driveway at the elementary school, Town Clerk Jean Kopke said.
