The 11th annual Jordan’s Polar Plunge will take place March 2 at Plymouth Beach. Last year, more than 600 people ran into the water and raised over $100,000 for the Jordan Hospital Club Cancer Center. Registration for the plunge begins at 10:30 a.m., and prizes are awarded for the best costumes, most money raised, most enthusiastic team, and other categories. “There’s music, there’s food . . . we try to make this a really fun event,“ said Catherine McKenna, a volunteer member of the event organizing committee. Every year, plungers sport some interesting costumes. In the past, people have dressed as superheroes, polar bears, or characters from TV shows. “The creativity is amazing,” McKenna said.
