Deputy veterans’ agent appointed

The Board of Selectmen on Monday named Carin Smith of Plymouth as deputy veterans’ agent, a part-time position assisting veterans’ agent William Dodge. Town Administrator Rocco Longo called Smith “an outstanding leader.” Smith said she retired from the US Army National Guard after more than 21 years of service and now works in veterans’ services for the Nathan Hale Foundation, which operates veterans’ outreach centers in Plymouth and Middleborough. Duties of the Marshfield position include communicating with veterans and helping them access veterans’ benefits.
