Town weathered storm well

Despite its exposed location, Hull escaped with relatively little damage from last weekend’s huge storm, according to Town Manager Philip Lemnios.  “By and large, our lights were on for most of the storm, our roads were open and clear, and school was actually open on Monday,”Lemnios said. The ocean did flood the Gunrock area, battering some houses and damaging a road, he said. “It’s still too early to tell [the exact cost], but it looks like a $75,000 to $100,000 storm,” he said. The town’s wind turbines shut down automatically when the wind speeded up to near hurricane levels, but are now running again. “They weather it,” Lemnios said.
