Duxbury golf course battle headed to trial


Selectmen voted to end settlement negotiations with Johnson Golf Management and instead bring their dispute to trial. Johnson filed a lawsuit against the town in December 2008 after the Weston-based company failed to win a new contract to manage the North Hill Country Club, which is owned by the town. Johnson contends it was unfairly ousted from the job and has accused the town of bid-rigging. In 2011, a judge ordered Johnson Golf to vacate the club, ending its 15-year management of the course.
