Bus driver honored

Mark Jarvis, a bus driver for Freetown Elementary School, will be honored on Wednesday with a national safety award, according to Durham School Services, a national school transportation provider. On Sept. 28, 2012, Jarvis, a Lakeville resident, spotted a second-grade student hiding under his bus on a school morning. He extracted the child and brought the boy to school administrators. He has received a Beacon Award for inspiring communication of a safety message.
