Fire department’s EMS scores high

Norwood Fire Department's Emergency Medical Service received a 90.58 percent rating for the last trimester of service in a state-mandated review by Girard Associates, an ambulance consulting company from Westport. This represents a roughly 1 percentage point increase from the previous trimester, which was a 6-point increase over the trimester before that. Fire Chief Anthony Greeley reported the results of the assessment, which is based on 13 elements of patient care, to the Board of Selectmen at its meeting last week. Greely said the state average is 85 percent and that he was pleased to include this evaluation in his first report as chief.
