NASA webcast for students

Sharon fifth-graders will participate in a live webcast with NASA personnel from the Johnson Space Center in Houston to mark the culmination of an annual space-themed physical fitness program called “Mission X: Train Like an Astronaut.” Tim Vigorito, a physical education teacher at Heights Elementary School and facilitator of Mission X in the Sharon schools, said that this year, 750 Sharon elementary students took part in the international program, the largest group in the United States. The webcast, to be held Friday, will include NASA astronauts, one of whom will pose trivia questions to the children, he said. US Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III, a member of the Subcommittee on Space, is scheduled to offer remarks, but the event is not open to visitors because the school does not have enough room, Vigorito said.
