The town has chosen two contractors to work on the huge road-replacement initiative that has been in the works since 2012. Residents voted last year for a debt exclusion to repair nearly one-third of the roads in Rockland. While a few have been fixed since then, most will be replaced in the next two to four years, according to town officials. Avon-based T.L. Edwards Inc. will work with a budget of over $2 million to lay down pavement on the designated roads. The town also has budgeted $762,500 for Mass Pavement Reclamation Inc. in Hanover to work on the pulverization and adjustment of water gates and sewer cover castings. Town Administrator Allan Chiocca said the town chose from several bids for the two contracts.
