Selectmen have begun to review the several dozen or so warrant articles that voters will consider at the April 22 Town Meeting. Among them is a bylaw discussed at Monday’s meeting to help keep pollutants out of storm drains by imposing a $300-a-day fee for those who violate it. According to state environmental officials, substances that are banned from drains include the usual suspects like paint, oil, trash, pesticides, and sewage and animal waste. Besides various budgetary items, Town Meeting voters will weigh in on a pair of requests for the town to add to its well fields by spending $500,000 to buy an 11-acre parcel off Cross Street and $100,000 for about four acres off Plymouth Street. The annual meeting is held in the Middleborough High School auditorium and begins at 7:30 p.m.
