Triple jumper places fourth nationally


Randolph High junior Evandro Da Costa placed 4th in the triple jump at the New Balance national track and field events at the Armory indoor track in New York City last weekend. The Blue Devils standout qualified for the “Emerging Elite’’ category by placing in the top six in the long jump in Massachusetts during the winter indoor track season. Randolph public schools athletic director Tony Price called Da Costa’s 45-foot, 7.25-inch triple jump “an impressive performance,” especially since this was Da Costa’s first appearance in a national meet.
