New orthopedic center

Responding to increased demand for hip- and knee-replacement surgeries, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton will open the doors to a 6,000-square-foot orthopedic center on Monday. The wing was constructed next to the radiology department, so that patients who have difficulty walking won’t have to go far to get X-rays, according to hospital spokesman Jason Bouffard. The center will have sports medicine doctors, as well as joint, foot, ankle, hand, and wrist specialists. Phase two of the construction will build a 3,000-square-foot facility for rehabilitation services, Bouffard said.
