There will be four contests on the ballot in the April 27 town election, including three candidates vying for the seat of retiring Selectman Greg Hanley. Competing are Michelle Burt, a former Housing Authority member; John Mattinson, chairman of the Cable Broadband and Technology Committee; and Dan Taylor, chairman of the Planning Board. In the other contested races, Elaine Boide and Scott Desantis are squaring off for the seat of retiring Board of Assessors member Cindy Long. Board of Health member Thomas Driscoll faces a challenge from Jurgen Keller. And Larissa Curley, Carol Watches, and Keller are seeking to fill the remaining two years of the term of a library trustee seat. The deadline for nominations has passed, and seven other candidates are running unopposed, while no one filed papers to run for the Housing Authority seat held by Hanley.
