Proposal restricts location of marijuana shops


A proposal coming before voters in May would allow medical marijuana dispensaries in two business districts as long as they are at least 500 feet from a home, school, or day-care center. The Planning Board will introduce a measure at May 6 Town Meeting to restrict the dispensaries to Accord Executive Business Park and Assinippi Industrial Park. The state Department of Public Health has yet to issue regulations governing the operation of medical marijuana shops, which were made legal by voters through a statewide referendum last November.
