Holbrook Junior-Senior High School students Joanah Diala and Brendan Palmieri have been selected to participate in the Adobe Youth Voices Summit Aug. 12 through 16 at Santa Clara University in California. The summit includes workshops in audio and video production, graphic design, and other areas of digital media. Diala and Palmieri were nominated by the after-school academic enrichment and support program they attend, which is run by Stars, a Weymouth-based nonprofit. Corey Stallings, Holbrook site director for Stars , attended an Adobe training last year and will accompany the students. To be accepted for the summit, the students had to write an essay and answer questions about their plans for the future and their technology interests, he said. Their invitation to the summit covers all expenses, including travel.
