Selectwoman loses election

Incumbent Selectwoman Cara Ann Winslow was ousted from her seat by 28 votes in Tuesday’s town election. Four candidates were vying for two seats on the Board of Selectmen, and incumbent Stephen Holmes was reelected with 823 votes, while Patrick Tropeano won the other seat with 757 votes. Winslow came in a close third with 729 votes, followed by Frank DeFelice, who had 609 votes. The Wareham town clerk’s office said 1,658 residents hit the polls that day, so the total turnout was about 10 percent.
