Public hearing on school budget

The School Department will hold a public hearing next week on the $80 million proposed budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1. Superintendent Brenda J. Hodges said that the budget process has been marked by “a positive working relationship between the town and the schools.” Hodges said the budget, which will go before voters May 7, calls for level services but with unanticipated increases in special education costs. The hearing will be held on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mansfield High School auditorium. More information on the budget can be found at
