Residents are invited to a public meeting next week to talk about conservation and open space ideas, town officials said. This is the first of two meetings being held by the Mattapoisett Open Space Committee, which will outline the Draft 2012 Open Space Plan. The plan will cover such topics as land and water resource protection, habitat protection, wetlands, playing fields, beaches, and agriculture. The meeting will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 25 in the cafeteria of Old Hammondtown School at 20 Shaw St. For information, call 508-758-4100, ext. 223.
