Candidate drops out of selectmen’s race


It’s down to four candidates running for two seats on the Board of Selectmen in the May 11 election. William Burnett Jr., who organized the Cohasset Triathlon, confirmed last week that he has dropped out of the race, but declined to say why. That leaves former Selectwoman Karen Quigley, Community Preservation Committee chairman J. Russell Bonetti, incumbent Leland Jenkins, and Capital Budget Committee chairman Stephen Gaumer. Quigley and Bonetti are campaigning on platforms critical of the current direction of the board.
