Forum on proposed slot parlor

A public forum has been scheduled to discuss a slot-machine parlor proposed for Raynham Park, a former dogtrack still used for simulcast racing. Debbie Tanner, administrative assistant to the Raynham town administrator, said the forum will be hosted by the Board of Selectmen and by consultants hired by the town to study the proposal. Owners of the track, together with a business partner, are competing with other developers for the state’s only slots license. The forum is set for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., with a tentative location of Town Hall, 558 South Main St. Updates to the location will be posted on the town website, www.town.raynham.ma.us, Tanner said.
