The Westwood Board of Health has announced that the Norfolk County Mosquito Control District will conduct helicopter applications over specific large wetlands to control mosquito larvae this week until Friday, weather permitting. Beginning next month, the agency will conduct aerosol applications of pesticides in all communities it covers in the evening, rather than in the early morning hours, as in previous years. Applications will begin after sunset Mondays through Thursdays. Residents can find out if their streets are being treated by calling 617-582-6216 after 3:30 p.m. for each town’s scheduled day, or by visiting www.norfolkcountymosquito.org/ULV_Schedule.html. There will be no applications on Friday evenings except during public health emergencies.
