Some new faces, but no contested races, will be in the annual town election on May 14. A potential three-way race for two seats on the Board of Selectman was averted at the 11th hour when businessman Karl Clemmey withdrew his candidacy without explaining why. The two School Committee candidates, Lynn M. Cavicchi and Linda B. Fernando, are both new to the committee; incumbents Jean Miller and Lisa Losiewicz did not seek reelection. “I hope this doesn’t drop the voter turnout too much,” said Town Clerk Marianne E. Staples of the lack of contested races.
