The Community Preservation Committee will hold its annual public forum on May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Veterans Hall in Town Hall. The committee makes recommendations to Town Meeting on expenditures from the Community Preservation Fund. The fund was created through the town’s adoption in 2006 of the Community Preservation Act, which allows cities and towns to levy a property tax surcharge to support open space, affordable housing, historic preservation, and recreation facility projects. The state provides matching dollars. At the hearing, members of town boards and the general public are invited to discuss potential projects that could qualify for the funds.
