Schools district plans its technology needs

The Old Rochester Regional School District is laying out plans for using technology in the classroom and is asking for the public’s input. “There’s a push to infuse technology into the curriculum to support teachers’ instruction,” said Ryan McGee, the district’s technology director, adding that equipment already is in place and “we want to be sure our technology meets current and future needs.” The public is invited to the first meeting of the district’s technology council on Monday at the regional high school. The council wants to form a group of 20 members representing teachers, administrators, school board members, and the community to help planning. Anyone interested in joining can e-mail McGee at and include a paragraph on what they could contribute. The council will also meet on May 29 and June 19.
