Thief fails to thwart raffle

A safe was stolen from the First Congregational Church early this month, but church officials said it won’t stop plans for a raffle next month to win a customized Chrysler PT Cruiser. The raffle had raised about $8,000, which was safely deposited elsewhere, church officials said, but the stolen safe contained stubs for about 400 purchased raffle tickets. People who already bought tickets can swap their stubs for new ones in person at the church, or by mailing them to First Congregational Church, PO Box 147, Plympton, MA, 02367.
