Town elections coming up

Seven people are running for two open seats on the Rockland School Committee, and multiple candidates are vying for Board of Selectmen, highway superintendent, and Planning Board in Tuesday’s town election. The ballot will include a question asking if Rockland should permanently raise the annual budget for Rockland Memorial Library by an additional $150,000 in real estate and personal property taxes. The town election will take place along with the primary to fill the US Senate seat vacated by John Kerry. Polls at the John W. Rogers Middle School and R. Stewart Esten School will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
