The West Bridgewater Public Library will present “Genealogy: Getting Started” on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the library, 80 Howard St. A panel of six genealogists from Plymouth County Genealogists Inc. will present a program designed for the beginner who wants to know how to start researching his or her family tree. Among the topics to be discussed will be: using charts to record family members; research preparation; and genealogical documents and repositories and where they can be found. Panel members will advise where to find genealogical clues in the communities where your ancestors lived, and how to research on the Internet. Plymouth County Genealogists was founded in 1976 as a nonprofit society aimed at the advancement of genealogy as a hobby and a profession, the encouragement and sharing of accurate genealogical documentation, and the exploration of new avenues of research. For more information on the society, go to plymouthcountygenealogists.org.
