AYERS FAMILY

Fred Ayers calls his wife, Betty, “the real power in the family.” She was a pediatric nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital while he was in surgical training, later working for him part time when their four children were older. She now helps with the day care of her two youngest grandchildren.
