Foundation to revamp East Milton Square

The Copeland Family Foundation of Milton will support a plan to temporarily revamp East Milton Square until longer-term renovations take place. Selectmen recently accepted $8,500 from the foundation for temporary landscaping of islands, removal of barricades, street line painting, and other aesthetic changes. The work is expected to be completed by July 1, according to Department of Public Works director Joseph Lynch. In May, Town Meeting approved a plan to move forward with an East Milton Square improvement project using $300,000 from the state for the engineering study and a $1 million federal grant for the work.
