Selectmen to discuss BYOB

This summer, selectmen will study how best to regulate a proposal approved by Town Meeting that will allow restaurant patrons to bring their own wine or beer to drink with their meals. The BYOB regulations will likely include training for wait staff and require restaurants to apply for a license, according to Selectman Olivier Kozlowski. “We need to make sure people don’t over-serve themselves. There will be a license that [restaurants] can lose,” he said. The proposal will need to go before a public hearing and regulations aren’t likely to be in place before the fall, he said.
