Cranberry Cove beach opens

The town is reminding residents that Cranberry Cove, Hanson’s public beach on Maquan Pond, is opening on Tuesday. Beach hours will be noon to 7 p.m. each day. Those who were not able to register at the Kick-off Day for swimming lessons or the swimming team can do so by e-mailing the new beach director, Paige Cameron at preparation for the season, the Recreation Department has been busy making improvements to the facility, according to Jim Flanagan, the head caretaker at Camp Kiwanee. Included are renovations to the dock, which were set to be completed this past Friday.
