Town Meeting approves tight budget

Voters gathered Tuesday at Wareham High School to pick up where they left off and vote on budget items from the last Town Meeting. The budget that ultimately passed included $1.2 million in cuts to Wareham’s municipal services and public schools, according to Town Administrator Derek Sullivan. “Some departments are affected more than others,” said Sullivan. The Wareham Police Department, for example, lost three full-time positions: two officer positions and one administrative staff job. “There’s nobody really happy with the budget,” said Sullivan. “Across the board, it’s a tough budget.”
