Cable board seeks members

The town’s Cable TV Advisory Committee seeks to fill three vacancies, said committee chairman David Curtis. The slots opened up when three members left to join the recently formed cable TV access board, created when the town started its own access channel, Curtis said. “Our committee lawyer advised us that they couldn’t serve on our board and the access board, to avoid any conflict of interest,” Curtis said. Though three seats are open, Curtis said, more people are welcome to apply, adding: “We’ve had as many as eight members at one time. But we like an odd number in case there’s a tie vote on an issue.” The committee meets on as as-needed basis, Curtis said. Anyone interested in serving should write a letter to the board of selectmen at or to the selectmen’s office at Town Hall, 346 Bedford St., Lakeville 02347.
