Recreation and open space survey


The Conservation Commission is asking residents to fill out a short survey on Middleborough’s outdoor recreation and open space needs. The results will be used to prepare an Open Space Plan through 2020, officials said, a requirement for receiving state and federal money needed for resource protection and recreation site development. Open spaces can be used for agriculture, forestry, wildlife habitat, scenic vistas, outdoor recreational opportunities, or their contribution to the overall character of the town, according to members of the board. The survey is available on the town’s website at Completed forms can be dropped off at Town Hall, the town clerk’s office, the Middleborough Public Library, or they can be mailed to the Conservation Commission at 20 Center St., Middleborough 02346, or e-mailed to Deadline for submission is July 30.
