The Town Council on Monday unanimously approved a fiscal 2014 operating budget that will rise nearly $3 million from this year, to $78 million. The budget includes more money for town services, including those provided by the police, fire, education, and public works departments. The town also can hire three new firefighters, giving the town its highest staffing level in decades, according to Councilor Jason Adams. The new fiscal year starts Monday.
