Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center and Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital have reached a deal to provide inpatient pediatric care for children in Southeastern Massachusetts, officials for both organizations announced. In this relationship, children will receive round-the-clock care at a dedicated pediatric unit at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. The doctors will then touch base with a child’s regular pediatrician to ensure consistency of care. Kim Hollon, Signature’s president and chief executive officer, said the arrangement will make life easier for children, parents, and the referring pediatricians. Floating Hospital’s chief of pediatrics, Dr. Melissa Mauro-Small, said her passion is caring for the sickest of children and helping them to feel better. “I look forward to meeting and working with the patients at Signature Healthcare” in Brockton, she said.
