Deadline for Boch Fund applications is July 19


Requests for a share of the $30,500 donated this year to the town by Ernie Boch Jr. are due to Norwood selectmen by July 19. Ernie Boch Sr. set up the Andrew J. Boch Memorial Fund in 1997 to honor his father. After the senior Boch died, his son added his name to the fund. The Board of Selectmen review requests and distribute the money to nonprofits, including sports teams and other organizations. The awards will be announced July 23. Board of Selectmen chairman William Plasko said requests are usually for far more money than selectmen have to distribute, but he said they try to “spread the wealth” as best they can.
