The old building is no longer being used and the move into the new East Bridgewater Junior Senior High School has begun in earnest, according to the School Building Committee’s latest report. Administrative office furniture was transferred in the first week of July, and new furniture, fixtures, and equipment are being installed in the new school. Anything left in the old school early next month will be made available to the two other town schools and other town departments. The committee has scheduled an Aug. 10 auction/sale of any other reusable items. The old school will be used for the last two weeks of August as an emergency-training facility for the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT team before being handed over to the demolition firm Sept. 1. The committee’s next meeting will be Monday at 7 p.m. in the construction trailer on the new school grounds.
