Estate sale: Freetown Historical Society’s estate sale on July 20-21 will include donated items for sale such as antiques, household furnishings, collectors-type old magazines and catalogs, and glassware. Fundraiser: Doggie Fun & Fitness Center will celebrate its third annual Open House Family Fun Day on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. Open to the public, there will be dog training and agility demonstrations, as well as activities for kids, including a moonwalk, slip ‘n slide, and dunk tank. Dog trial: Sheepdog Junction will hold a regional sheep dog trial at Soule Homestead on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dogs from all over the East Coast will compete in this event, which will be judged by Berni Armata of the North East Border Collie Association. Richard Seaman, dog trainer and owner of Sheepdog Junction, will offer commentary and explanations of what the judges are looking for. or 508-947-674.


River race: The North & South River’s Watershed Association’s 23d annual Great River Race on the North River will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. All skill levels are invited to partake in the race in nonmotorized vessels including canoes, kayaks, and rowboats. Participants age 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Registration begins at the Union Street Bridge from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. or 781-659-8168.
