New iPads

The town’s public schools will be able to purchase additional iPads through a recent $5,000 grant from the Pembroke Education Foundation. The funding will allow the district to buy about 15 iPads, or three for each of the town’s five schools, enhancing its use of technology in learning, according to Susan Scholl, the foundation’s president. The $5,000 was drawn from part of the proceeds of a country-and-western music fund-raiser the foundation held last March. The iPads, which the district plans to purchase soon, will add to the 10 that the foundation donated to the district last school year. The foundation is a nonprofit that raises money to support programs in the town’s public schools.
