New rules for Reservoir Pond

Rules for boating and other activities at the newly acquired Reservoir Pond in Canton may soon change. Selectmen established a Reservoir Pond Advisory Committee at their meeting Tuesday that would make nonbinding recommendations to selectmen governing the centrally located pond. The committee will include 13 members for one-year terms appointed from various town departments and organizations. The town acquired the pond from Canton Development Properties in December. Selectmen are looking for recommendations on such matters as the types of boats permitted there, the location of the boat launches, safety issues, and hours of operation.
