The public is invited to a reception for “Avon’s favorite artist” — Hull resident J. Marshall Dyke — on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., according to library director Karen Johnson. An exhibit of Dyke’s paintings will be on display at the library through August. “This is his 31st exhibit [here],” Johnson said. “He calls himself Avon’s favorite artist, and he is, absolutely. I’ve been here for maybe 25 of his exhibits and they’re always interesting, always different.” The library is located at 280 West Main St.
