Sewage plant smells fading

Town workers are making progress on getting rid of the bad smells that have been wafting from the town wastewater treatment plant this summer — making technical improvements that include draining and cleaning tanks and adding new chemicals. The plant also increased its neighborhood air monitoring, officials said. In a letter to residents, the town said that while the odors have been “objectionable, there is no public health danger.” The letter asked residents to report bad smells by calling 781-925-0906. “We know that this has been a difficult experience for our neighbors and we greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time,” the letter said.
