The Hanson Public Library is trying to attract more people to take part in its “Book to Movie” discussion group, said library director Nancy Cappellini. Each month, participants read a common book, then watch the film version at home, or at the library on the last Tuesday of the month. A discussion of the book and movie is then held on the last Thursday of the month. The library has offered the program for the past two years, and the selected books and movies are available for check-out at the library. The books are also available on the library’s e-readers, which also can be checked out. The August selection is “The Secret Life of Bees,” by Sue Monk Kidd. The movie will be shown Tuesday at 1 p.m. and the discussion will take place on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The September selection is “Sense and Sensibility” by Jane Austen.
