New elementary school principal

With less than two weeks before the start of classes, Freetown Elementary School has a new principal, Kimberly Sefrino. Sefrino was principal at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Canton for two years and previously worked 15 years in the Fall River school system. In a letter to school staff and parents last week, interim Superintendent Kristine Nash wrote that Sefrino’s appointment had just been finalized. “I do not have details of her entry plan to share as of yet; I will update the community as soon as possible,” the letter said. The other finalist for the job was Lisa Whelan,  who has been a principal in the Yarmouth and Auburn school districts.
