A recently formed Young People’s Alliance of Carver will host an open house at the former Ben Ellis School building at 247 Tremont St. Sept. 7 from noon to 4 p.m. The public will be able to learn about the organization and tour the schoolhouse that has been renovated to support its activities. Organizers say the alliance’s mission is to provide a safe haven for youths and offer monitored programs to help them reach their potential. The open house will include a bake sale, recognition of the architect and contractors who renovated the Ben Ellis building, and a raffle for a helicopter tour of Carver. Families with children, potential volunteers, and other members of the community are encouraged to attend.
