Coalition assesses its efforts

The Avon Coalition for Every Student will meet on Sept. 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Stoughton YMCA to analyze which of its efforts have helped reduce drug and alcohol abuse among young people, according to coordinator Amanda Decker. The group will analyze data that include school suspension records, police reports, hospital information, surveys, and focus group reports, she said. A preliminary analysis is encouraging, Decker said. “One of the things that stands out is the positive trend the data has taken over the last few years,” she said.
