A 1,045-square-foot modular structure will be built next to the fire station on Palmer Road this fall. Selectmen last week awarded a contract for $49,963 to Pine Grove Homes of Pennsylvania to build the modular structure that will house emergency medical service personnel hired by the town as part of its upgrade to Advanced Life Support status. The modular structure will have two bedrooms, each with bunk beds, as well as an office, a sitting area, and two bathrooms. Money for the project was appropriated at the annual Town Meeting in May. Town Coordinator Dale Pleau said that Pine Grove Homes was the sole bidder for the project, which he said will be completed by the end of October.
