The Board of Selectmen recently approved Town Manager Michael Yunits’s appointments of Nicholas Precourt and Steven Loud as full-time patrol officers in the Police Department, and John Patterson as a special police officer, a part-time officer who serves on an on-call basis. Precourt has an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Bristol Community College and has been a Bridgewater State University police officer, a special police officer in Norton, and an auxiliary police officer in Attleboro. Loud has a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Merrimack College, and has worked as a reserve officer in Nantucket and as a special police officer in Mansfield. Both are Norton residents. Patterson, of Easton, has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University. Yunits made the appointments on the recommendation of Police Chief Brian Clark.
